Interact Club
Oh let the hand of friendship,
Be stretched across the sea,
To bring mankind together,
In one fraternity,
May love and understanding,
Prevail in one and all,
May brother come to sister,
To answer duty's call,
We're faithful Interactors,
Prepared to play our part,
To serve with love and needy,
With understanding heart,
When nations join with nations,
To build a brave new world,
Thus than the heart of children,
Shall sing the song of mirth,
Let not your feet be lagging,
But come and join our throng,
Let's fill this world together,
With friendship happy song!

As all of you guys know, the IU night held on 28 March 2009 was a huge success. I know it's April now. However, It’s never too late to thank all of the people who were involved in making this event a success. Haha.
And here’s the thank you message that Hiew Jian Yong, the IU Director of 2009 wrote:
First of all, allow me to say a big thank you to all who had contributed in making this IU Night a success. To those who had attended this event, I hope you had a wonderful and memorable yet knowledgeable time. On behalf of the club, I would like to apologise to those who were requested to leave due to improper code of dressing and forgive us for some minor technicalities or flaws throughout the event. I would also like to thank Mr. Khaw, Datin Christine, Rotarians, teachers, the school maintenance team and the school guards for all their guidance, help, support and cooperation. To all club members of Interact and Youthact, my utmost thanks for all your support, suggestion and endless hard work in making this IU Night a great success. Here, I would like to thank:
Adrihani What a wonderful assistant, really! Thanks for the runway which you managed to get for a good price though I know its real cost is higher. The booklet was fantastic and educational. Here, I would like to apologise for constantly changing the details of the booklet although you have printed it. In short, I really appreciate all your help and most importantly, your unwavering patience in making this event a great one! Well done!
Colin I know you have done your very best in this event. Although there were some mistakes here and there, I understand that it is not entirely your fault. On the contrary, well done and great job in coordinating your Youthact members, whether it was in exhibition, hall decoration or hall duty. Without your help in handling to settle the tickets or promoting the tickets, I believe that the tickets would not be sold out that fast. Hence, congrats!!! Not forgetting other Youthact members, thank you so much especially to Britney, Visharn and Devyani.
Terance Lee Hey, buddy! Thanks a lot for the excellent coordination of food as well as the budget control. Without you there to make sure everyone get the food in less than 10 minutes, the show wouldn’t be able to run smoothly as planned. Also, thanks for helping Mei Shen to coordinate the tickets. Oh, thanks to your grandma as well for the chicken chop she made for the VIPs. Yusri, thanks for assisting Terance and I sincerely apologise for canceling the PowerPoint quiz show that you have been preparing, due to time constraint.
Yin Sylvia The next top Fashionista? Who? None other than you! What an interesting yet educational fashion show. No one could be better than you in coordinating and putting this fashion show into a great piece of art. Thanks to you too, Vivian, for being there to assist, help and share the load with Sylvia. To fashion models, well done!
Mei Shen You! Well, thank you for being present to do all the necessary paperwork from proposal, invitation letter to official security guards letter. I know you really had a difficult time coordinating the tickets. But seriously, without you coordinating the tickets, I think we will face many difficulties on IU Night. I know on that day that you face a lot of pressure and difficulties from many parties but you handle it well. To those who had helped her in managing the tickets, a big thank you to you all.
Michelle Low Thank You! I cannot express how grateful I am to have you as the stage manager. With you in charge, I have no worries in regards of the flow of the event. I would also like to take this opportunity to apologise for the frequent changes made in the agenda on that day itself. However, you managed to assure that the flow is excellent. Andrea, you really coordinated the music well. Mun Yee, you did a great job with the curtains. Dickson, thanks for helping Michelle in managing the flow of the event.
Jonathan Lee and Al Qasyaff A huge round of applause! The video was da BOMB! It was what really made this event educational and of course entertaining. Guys, I know you all work very hard and slept late to finish up the video. Shaun, thanks for your special appearance. Benny, thanks for helping in the video production. To sum it up, your hard work and dedication is very much appreciated and once again, thank you.
Lee Hua Min and Carmen Au Thank you so much! Both of you are the best candidates in doing publicity. Without your help in publicising the IU Night, I believe that the tickets would not have sold out before the day itself. Of course, thanks to all bloggers for helping out to spread the news about our IU Night. Of course, without your creativity and design skills, I believe the atmosphere created to suit the theme, “America, Here I come!” cannot be achieved. Thanks to all who had helped out too especially Fong Bee, Kah Seng and Mun Yee. Sorry, if I had forgotten to type your name.
Leong Mei Yee I really appreciate your help. Thanks for making the -----------------------------.I know it is not easy to make one. Thanks for helping Mei Shen with the tickets. Luckily, you were there at the ticketing booth on that day to help out Mei Shen to cope with the pressure from other party. You know, I know what happen on that day. Thank you for helping out with the Earth Hour moment. Basically, you help out a lot. What makes me appreciate your presence more is the fact that you are not even an Interactor.
Yap Sue Yii Surprise, surprise! Didn’t expect your name to be here? Thanks so much for helping out with the fashion show. Your help in doing the make up for the models (especially Charlie) had made the fashion show a fabulous one. Sorry for the trouble you have to face on that day by some parties and why do I keep on saying thank you to you? Because just like Mei Yee, you are not even an interactor and yet you helped out so much! So, thank you again!
Simply put, all members had work really hard and placed a lot of effort into making this IU Night a great success. I can’t express how lucky I am to have you guys (and girls!) to help out in this event. Once again, thanks to all members who had contributed to make this IU Night a marvelous one. If I ever forget to acknowledge you, please forgive me because there are just too many to thank.
Oh, before I forget them….. Michelle Lim, Lim Jiy Ni and Carmen Cheong The really awesome emcees! Without you girls, the event would definitely not be that AWESOME and successful. Why is it that this trio did a fantastic job? BECAUSE THERE WERE PEOPLE ASKING FOR THEIR AUTOGRAPH! (Well, they told me this themselves but I don’t know how true can it be). Of course that’s not the point. They managed to emcee so well even with the constant changes of the agenda at the very last minute. I have to say they did a wonderful grand opening. Once again, thank you to Michelle Lim, Lim Jiy Ni and Carmen Cheong.
Pictures and videos of the IU night will be posted up soon. Please be patience :D okay?
